The aim of this conference is to create a space for the presentation of the latest knowledge and trends in science and technical development in the field of metallurgy. Traditionally, it is a meeting of experts from scientific and research institutions, as well as representatives of industrial practice at the international level.

Within the conference, there is an opportunity to gain knowledge about the latest trends in the field of iron production, as well as about other attractive areas related to energy transformations in industry and the areas of non-ferrous and non-metallic materials. This year's conference extends by new current topics regarding waste processing and recycling and decarbonisation of the metallurgical industry.

In addition to its high professional level, the Iron and Steelmaking 2023 conference also offers a space for the mutual connection of the scientific community with professional practice. In the professional sessions, in which the conference builds on the traditions of previous Iron and Steelmaking conferences, there will be presented new results of research, development, production and use of raw material resources, as well as iron, steel, ferroalloys and refractory materials, also with regard to ecological aspects of production.

Other important conference areas of focus are energy transformations in industry, non-ferrous and non-metallic materials, and simulations of metallurgical processes and the field of foundry. The conference extends by other highly current topics, dealing with the processing and recycling of waste and the decarbonisation of the metallurgical industry.

Review process

The chair of the Scientific Committee selects in collaboration with the editorial committee the members of the reading committee (2 reviewers) to review one or more articles which include checking for scope, relevance and other standard requirements.
The peers of the chosen scientific committee members are experts in the relevant fields. They analyze scientific work from all angles, including its writing the accuracy of its technical content, its documentation, and impact and significance for the discipline.
MM2023 uses the peer review process to maintain academic standards and ensure the validity of individual work submitted for publication. Additionally MM2023 follows a two-blind peer review process to ensure unbiased editorial decision-making.
Based on reviewers' comments and recommendations, a manuscript may be accepted, accepted with revisions, or rejected.
If the paper is accepted with revisions, it will be returned to the authors for revision. Once the Editorial Board receives the revised manuscript it is reassigned to the reviewer (s) for approval of changes.
A manuscript can only be considered for approval if it receives positive comments from at least two reviewers.
The final publication decision rests with the editorial committee.

Papers are accepted in English language.

Paper should not exceed 4-5 pages, including appendices.

We also offer the possibility of advertising in the Abstracts of the conference (electronic form) for those who are interested in.

"Abstracts"
Before the conference the abstracts will be processed into electronic publication "Abstracts". This publication you will download at the conference. The electronic publication will include a list of the abstracts with the relevant information (author, company/institution, city, state, co-authors, associate, company/institution, funding information).

Submitted papers will be reviewed after the conference. The accepted lectures will be included in journal „Engineering Proceedings" and sent for reviewing and potential indexing to Web of Science and Scopus (Elsevier).

During the reviewing process authors may be asked to correct the flaws. Reviewer asks the author to correct the lecture max. twice. If the author fails to deliver the corrected paper, or if the corrected paper does not meet the criteria, the program committee reserved the right to reject the paper.

Publication of the proceeding depends on internal rules of above mentioned companies.

The scientific committee will categorize submitted papers to the lecture and poster sessions. The authors will be informed about acceptation of their papers in advance.
